Israeli police and Palestinians clash outside Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, 117 injured.

Israeli police and stone-pelting Palestinians clashed on Friday morning after offering Ramadan prayers at the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City.

Seven people injured in this violent incident were taken to the hospital. There is a tense situation in the wake of the incident.

The reasons for today’s violence after Friday prayers are not yet known.

The body that handles the mosque’s administrative work said Israeli police entered the mosque shortly after this morning’s prayers when thousands of people were present there.

In the video released for this entire incident, it is seen that Palestinians are pelting stones while the police are using tear gas and stain guns.

The Palestine Red Crescent emergency service said it had taken 20 of the injured to the hospital. The Palestinian Authority said a security guard at the site was hit by a rubber bullet in the eye.

Al Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam after Mecca and Medina. This mosque on the hill is the holiest site for the Jews, which they call ‘Temple Mount’.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said on Thursday that Israeli soldiers shot two Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, killing them.

A day earlier, three Palestinian civilians were killed in clashes with Israeli troops.

These soldiers are patrolling the West Bank and arresting people following a sudden escalation of attacks in Israel. In recent days, 14 people have been killed in these attacks.

At least 23 Palestinian civilians have been killed in incidents of violence. Most of these have been killed in the aftermath of deadly attacks or in clashes with Israeli security forces.

Others killed include a woman and a lawyer who unfortunately came under the grip of violence.

These incidents of violence are happening at a time when the holy month of Ramadan is going on for the people of the Muslim community.

Palestine’s health ministry said two people were killed in clashes with Israeli forces in the city of Jenin.
