External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday met the President and PM of Israel to discuss expanding the scope of bilateral ties, taking strategic cooperation to a new level.

In this conversation, both the countries agreed to take their relations to new heights. Jaishankar is on a five-day visit to Israel.

On Wednesday, the Indian External Affairs Minister met Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, conveyed PM Narendra Modi’s best wishes, and invited him to visit India on his first foreign visit.

Jaishankar holds important discussions with Israeli President and Prime Minister

Bennett became the prime minister of Israel only a few months ago. Prime Minister Bennett appreciated and thanked Modi and Jaishankar for their individual efforts in developing bilateral relations.

According to the media advisor to the Israeli Prime Minister, it was agreed to take the strategic cooperation of the two countries to the next level on the basis of close friendly ties.

Prime Minister Bennett said the people of Israel love India. We see India as a very good friend. Want to increase my relationship with him in every field and at every level.

Both the countries will work on a strategy of cooperation for the next 30 years.

We are at a very important stage of bilateral relations at the moment, Jaishankar said. Because circumstances are moving relative to us.

We also have to move ahead according to them and open the doors of possibilities. Now the challenge before us is to take our relationship to a new level. India is keen to develop its relations with Israel.

Jaishankar has described the talks with Prime Minister Bennett as positive and very useful by tweeting. Said that both the countries will work by making a strategy of cooperation for the next 30 years.

Earlier, Jaishankar met President Isaac Herzog at his residence Bet Hanasi. The two leaders agreed to take the 30-year-old relationship to new heights.

In a tweet, President Herzog said, “Important talks were held for the development of relations between the two ancient and prosperous democratic countries.”

Both the countries are ready to develop their relations in the fields of technology, trade, energy, and many more.

The Israeli President also mentioned the completion of 30 years of close relations between the two countries next year.

Jaishankar also met the Speaker of the Israeli Parliament Mickey Levy and discussed the parliamentary systems of the two countries.

This is Jaishankar’s first visit to Israel as a foreign minister. He has come to Israel at the invitation of the country’s next Prime Minister and currently Foreign Minister, Yair Lapid.

On Wednesday, Jaishankar also inaugurated a memorial built in the memory of Indian soldiers who died in defense of the Jewish people during the First World War in the city of Ranana.
