Jawahar Tunnel Weapon Seizure Case: Arms Arrived From Pakistan Through Samba. A preliminary inquiry into the seizure of the Jawahar Tunnel arms has revealed that these weapons were transported from Pakistan across the border via Samba.

A US M-4 carbine and an AK-47 rifle, six Chinese pistols, and an IED were recovered from the search. Two terrorists of Choppora Shopian, dressed in the guise of driver and co-driver, have also been caught in the truck.

So far, the investigation has revealed that this consignment of weapons was for the newly formed terrorists in south Kashmir. Based on the recovery of the US M-4 carbine, it can be said that it was for the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists.

Meanwhile

Two CRPF personnel were injured in a grenade attack by militants in Anantnag in south Kashmir on Wednesday. Meanwhile, security forces have started a search operation in two villages of Budgam district and one in Pulwama in the hope of hiding the terrorists.

The soldiers of the 40th Corps of the CRPF deployed at Lalchouk of Anantnag attacked with grenades at around seven-thirty in the evening. The grenade fell near the soldiers’ vehicle.

Constable Chandrapal and Head Constable (Driver) Sunil Kumar were injured in this attack. The terrorists fled after the attack. All the injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital. Simultaneously Lalchowk and its adjoining areas have been surrounded.

The search operation is on. Till late at night, no clue of the terrorists was found. Two groups of three to four terrorists hide in the houses: In the evening in Hariparigam village located near Avantipora in Pulwama district, a search operation was carried out with 2 Army RR, police, and CRPF personnel on the information of three terrorists.

Apart from this, the security forces have surrounded the village of Draggad and Rathsun in Budgam district. Every house is being searched. In these two villages, two groups of three to four terrorists are hidden here by some contact person. The search was on till late in the night.
