The murder of the JDS councilor in Karnataka seems to be gaining momentum now.

Municipality member Prashant was murdered by miscreants last night, after which security has now been beefed up near the morgue in Hassan. Police have also formed 3 teams to nab the accused.

According to Hassan’s SP R Srinivasa Gowda, more police personnel from other districts have been called for security in the wake of this murder.

Unknown assailants killed Councilor.

A Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) councilor in Karnataka’s Hassan City Municipal Council was murdered by unidentified assailants at Lakshmipura Extension in the city on Wednesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Prashant Nagaraj who was a member of Hassan City Municipal Council (HCMC) and a corporator of JDS.

Attacked with deadly weapons.

According to preliminary information given by the police, Prashant was traveling in his two-wheeler on Wednesday.

Then a group of people in an auto-rickshaw chased him and attacked him with lethal weapons. The councilor died on the spot in this attack.

The incident is said to have happened around 7.30 pm on Wednesday. A case of murder has been registered in Pension Mohalla police limits and the matter is being investigated.

In this case, the police have also recovered the auto-rickshaw in which the attackers came along with the deadly weapon.

Taking a U-turn, three accused who attacked Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Singh Tikait have revealed the real reason for throwing ink.

The accused now claims that they attacked him for not speaking in Kannada. Police sources on Thursday also said that they are examining the statements of the accused.

The attack took place during the press conference.

Let us inform you that while addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan in Bengaluru on Monday, Tikait was attacked with black ink.

The police had arrested three people – Bharat Shetty, president of Bharat Raksha Vedike, Shivakumar, and Pradeep.

The accused had named Prime Minister Narendra Modi after carrying out the attack while being carried away by the police.
