Kashmir Is Our Internal Issue, Don’t Interfere: India Warns

Kashmir is our internal issue, not to interfere, India bluntly told China – Stop work on CPEC. The Ministry of External Affairs has bluntly asked Pakistan and China not to interfere in India’s internal affairs. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Anurag Shrivastava said on Saturday that we hope that the parties concerned will not interfere in India’s internal affairs. Srivastava also said that China should immediately stop work on CPEC.

Some part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is coming into the territory of India which has been illegally occupied by Pakistan. We strongly oppose the attempt of any country (China and Pakistan) to change the status quo in Pak occupied Kashmir.

Anurag Shrivastava said that as we have before, we categorically reject the reference to Jammu and Kashmir in the joint press talks of the two sides.  Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inseparable part of India. No other country has the right to interfere in this matter. It is not that India has given such instruction to China and Pakistan for the first time.

India has already told both China and Pakistan on separate occasions that they have no right to make any kind of comments about Kashmir and this is entirely India’s internal matter. With this statement, India has strongly exposed its opposition to CPEC. CPEC is an integral part of China’s ambitious Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

India was the first country to boycott the international conference called on the BRI on behalf of China. By the way, many countries including Japan, America, and France have started opposing China’s policy of connecting all parts of the world by sea, rail, and road.

Actually, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is on a visit to China. He met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi yesterday on Friday. After the talks between the Foreign Ministers, the joint statement of the two countries stated that they oppose any unilateral action which complicates the situation in Kashmir.

After this, Pakistan thanked China for supporting the Kashmir issue. Pakistan also promised that it would strongly support China on issues such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Tibet.
