In Kerala, the Kisan Credit Card scheme has been extended to fishermen so that they can get loans at low interest.

Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, L Murugan gave this information. He said that the Kisan Credit Card scheme has been expanded.

So that it could help the fishermen. Addressing a ‘fishermen convention’ organized by the Kerala Pradesh Fishermen Group (BMS) at Munambam, Kochi.

The Minister said that the commitment of the Union Government towards fishermen is evident from the fact that it has created a separate department for fisheries and set.

The MoS said, ‘For the first time in independent India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned Rs 20,000 crore for the fishermen in the Self-Reliant India Project.’

He said that the government has earmarked Rs 7.5 crore for setting up integrated fishermen’s villages with schools, health facilities, etc.

He further announced that fuel subsidy for fishermen would continue and added that the central government has sanctioned Rs 246 crore for fishermen in Kerala alone in the last five years.

Murugan said the government’s policy is to develop all fishing harbors in India.

Giving information on Tuesday, the Karnataka Police said that a teenager and three of his minor friends have been detained in connection with the murder of a person in Bengaluru.

Police said the man used to sexually assault his first daughter. He had disclosed this to his mother and the couple had a fight over this. The girl had shared this with her friends in college.

In the early hours of Monday, the day of the incident, the deceased again tried to sexually assault her in a drunken state.

The girl contacted her friend over the phone and asked for help. Police sources said that his friend, who had come along with four others, attacked Deepak and killed him.

The police are searching for the second accused. Further investigation is on.
