At the same time, in the last 24 hours, 1,17,525 people have been discharged from the hospital after recovering from the corona.

There are currently 9,13,378 active cases in the country. The vaccination campaign has started in the country on January 16. Under this, 25,90,44,072 doses of vaccine have been administered so far.

So far more than 38 crore samples have been tested

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), so far 38,13,75,984 samples have been corona tested in the country. On Monday, 17,51,358 sample tests have been done in a day.

Due to the second wave of the epidemic, strict restrictions including night curfew and lockdown have been implemented in most parts of the country. Although unlock has started in many states.

But at present strict restrictions are still in place in 12 states – Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry, West Bengal, Goa, Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha.

Dr. Sanjeev Sinha further said that we will have other figures in two-three months. Only then will we be able to take a decision on the booster dose.

Everything will be based on research. Work on booster dose is also going on in AIIMS. He said that three vaccines against Covid-19 – Covishield, Covaxin, and Sputnik V – have been allowed for use in the country.

He said that after a study was published in a leading medical journal, the government decided to increase the gap between the two doses of Covishield.
