More Than 2.75 Crore Doses Are Still Available With States & UTs

More than 2.75 crore doses are still available with states and union territories: Central Government.

Amidst reports of shortage of corona vaccine from many parts of the country, the central government said on Friday that more than 2.75 crore doses are still available in states, union territories.

As of Friday morning, over 43.87 crore doses have been distributed across the country and 71,40,000 are in the pipeline, a statement said.

According to the statement, 43,87,50,190 doses of the vaccine have been provided to the states and union territories through all sources so far and 71,40,000 more doses are in the pipeline.

It added that more than 2.75 crores (2,75,19,837) doses are still available with states and union territories and private hospitals.

The Centre, as part of the nationwide COVID vaccination campaign, is providing free vaccines to the states and union territories.

Of the total vaccines, 75 percent are procured and supplied by the government while 25 percent are by private hospitals.

Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering said in its report on Friday that the number of new cases of corona worldwide is 192,516,387.

The death toll has reached 4,127,963 and 3,746,414,242 people have been vaccinated.

According to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the US remains the most affected country in the world with the highest number of corona infections and deaths.

So in terms of infection, India is in second place with 31,257,720 cases.
