On 27 July, 5 Rafale Fighter Jet left for India from France’s Marignac base. The aircraft took off at about 12:30 pm Indian time and, after flying continuously for 7 hours, reached Al-Dafra French airbase near Abu Dhabi in the evening. Today, on July 29, in the morning, these fighters will leave from Al-Dafra Airbase for Ambala and if the weather is good, then at any time after noon, these five fighter jets will land at Ambala Air Base.

DSP Munish Sehgal, confirming this, said that the police would be fully alert and the blockade would be stopped. Care should be taken that people do not do photography with enthusiasm. He said that this is an issue related to national security, so these steps have been taken.

10 aircraft are ready for delivery on schedule. Although five aircraft have been kept in France for training, while 5 have been sent to India. On the French side, it has been made clear that the remaining fighter jets will be delivered by the end of 2021.

Earlier, Abu Air had French air force mid-air refuelers with Rafael till France airbase. Now after Abu Dhabi, Indians will be with IL-78 refueller Rafael, which will refuel in these fighter jets in the air itself.

According to sources, Group Captain Harkirat Singh will be the first commanding officer of Rafael Squadron. He is bringing planes with five other pilots. The training of all these pilots was in France for almost a year.

So far, a total of 15 to 17 pilots have been fully involved in flying it. About thirty pilots will be trained for 18 Rafale fighter jets of the 17th Squadron. However, 150 to 200 ground staff have been trained to look after the squadron of Rafale.

To reach India, Rafale will have to cover a distance of 7000 kilometers. India has taken a total of two squadrons i.e. 36 fighters from France. At present, the first batch training of these fighters and the technical-weapon system has been completed. The next batch will be trained in France for the next nine months. Indian Air Force has been struggling with a shortage of fighter squadrons for the last several years.

With Rafael’s arrival, this deficiency will be filled to a great extent. Rafale’s first squadron will be set up in Ambala and the second in Hashimara. This fighter is counted among the world’s most advanced and most dangerous fighters. Rafael is equipped with the world’s most dangerous air-to-air BVR Meteor missile and Pakistan and China will be able to deal with any threat along the border in a blink of an eye.
