Madhya Pradesh Honey Trap Case: Three accused women got bail after 22 months, know what the court said.

Shweta Vijay Jain, Shweta Swapnil Jain, and Monika Yadav, who were in jail for 22 months in the famous honey trap case of Madhya Pradesh, got bail from the Indore bench of the High Court.

The court said it is true that the accused have committed an immoral and degrading act, but they cannot be held solely responsible for it.

In the present circumstances, the hearing of the case is likely to take a long time to complete.

The prosecution has to get the statements of 57 witnesses and the charges against the accused have not even been framed. In such a situation, the accused should be given the benefit of bail.

The accused shall produce a surety of Rs 50,000 and a personal bond of the like amount before the trial court.

The court has made a strong comment on the complainant of the case and the then city engineer Harbhajan Singh.

In the judgment, the court wrote, he shamelessly abused his position and rights and created intimacy with the accused. Then when things got out of his control, he started making unnecessary noises.

Tough on Harbhajan.

In the nine-page judgment, the court has made strong remarks about Harbhajan Singh. The court admitted that he misused the position and allowed the luxuries to the accused women.

Integrity, morality, and honesty are essential qualities for a high-ranking officer. They have to maintain these qualities throughout their life, but if you leave them, then you yourself are to blame.

On behalf of the accused who put this argument.

It was told on behalf of accused Shweta Swapnil Jain that he has been in jail for a long time. His name is not even in the FIR.

No evidence was found against him. For this reason, the trial court did not even grant police remand. Shweta also has many diseases.

There is no evidence against the accused Monika Yadav as told by him. She herself is a complainant in the human trafficking case.

The trial of the case may take a long time. The prosecution has submitted a list of 57 witnesses. It will take a long time to record their statements.

It was said on behalf of accused Shweta Vijay Jain that on December 21, 2020, the HC had rejected her bail application saying that when the electronic documents are found, she will be able to file the petition again.

Till now electronic documents have not been received from SIT. The charges have not even been framed in the case.

This is the case.

It is to be known, Harbhajan Singh had lodged a complaint on 17th September 2019 at the police station Palasia that two women were demanding Rs 3 crore by threatening him to make obscene videos public.

Later he increased the amount to Rs.2 crore. On this complaint, the police took both Shweta into custody on 19 September 2019 and Monica on 1 October 2019.

They have been in jail since then. The three had filed bail applications through advocates Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Amar Singh Rathore, Vivek Singh, Yawar Khan, and Dharmendra Gurjar.

The single bench of the High Court had reserved the verdict after hearing the final arguments on these petitions on July 1, which was released on Tuesday.
