Malabar Naval Exercise To Be Held On 3-6 November

Malabar naval exercise to be held on 3-6 November amidst continuing deadlock with China.

The first phase of the Malabar naval exercise will be on the Visakhapatnam coast in the Bay of Bengal from November 3-6, amid the ongoing deadlock along the border with China in eastern Ladakh.

In addition to India, the navies of America, Japan, and Australia will participate. Officials said the second phase of the naval exercise would take place in the Arabian Sea from 17 to 20 November.

India announced last week that Australia would also participate in the Malabar naval exercise this year. In this way, it has become a joint naval exercise of the four countries of the Quad.

The Chinese remain skeptical about the purpose of the Malabar naval exercise. He feels that this annual exercise is an attempt to reduce his influence in the Indo-Pacific region.

It is noteworthy that the Malabar naval exercise began in the year 1992 with the bilateral joint naval exercise of the Indian Navy and the US Navy. Japan joined it in 2015.

This annual naval exercise was held on the coast of Guam in the Philippine Sea in the year 2018. The practice took place on the Japan coast in 2019.

Navy launches a missile during a military exercise in the Bay of Bengal

The Indian Navy on Friday successfully test-fired an anti-ship missile from its warship INS Kora in the Bay of Bengal.

The Navy did so under an exercise that reflected its combat preparedness in strategic maritime zones around India. The Navy said the missile hit the target at the maximum range with extreme precision.

The Navy tweeted, “The anti-ship missile fired by INS Kora targeted the target at a maximum distance in the Bay of Bengal with precision.”

Last week, the Navy released a video of a ship-breaking missile destroying a sinking ship with utmost accuracy at someplace in the Arabian Sea.
