Modi Government’s Policy Of Zero Tolerance Against Terrorism

Modi government’s policy of zero-tolerance against terrorism raised the morale of the army and police.

When the country is safe, then its people are also safe. Recall the pre-2014 era in terms of security. Then there were terrorist attacks in our cities every day.

In one such terror attack in July 2008, bomb blasts were carried out at 21 places in Ahmedabad. In these 56 people were killed and more than two hundred were injured.

Recently, 38 terrorists convicted for these blasts have been sentenced to death and 11 to life imprisonment. Many of them are from Azamgarh.

Undoubtedly, the situation changed after 2014 and the number of armed forces, police personnel, and civilians who lost their lives in terrorist incidents has come down.

Modi government’s policy of zero-tolerance against terrorism: This was possible because of political will and determination on national security.

While in the police service, I have seen closely how the security of the country was neglected for the sake of political selfishness.

When the Akhilesh government came to power in 2012, it took the initiative to withdraw the cases of terrorists Tariq Qasmi and Khalid Mujahid, who were arrested in the 2007 Gorakhpur bombings.

The Allahabad High Court reprimanded the government, staying the order of withdrawal of the case.

Later, Gorakhpur Special Judge found terrorist Tariq Qasmi guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

It should also be noted that in 2013 when terrorist Khalid died due to heatstroke, the Akhilesh government filed a case against 42 police officers and personnel.

Not only this, the investigation of this case was given to the CBI. The CBI found the case false in the initial investigation itself.

Even after this, when the BJP government came to power in March 2017, this fake case came to an end.

Terrorists convicted in Ahmedabad bomb blasts.

Before 2014, the central leadership was also adopting a flexible approach in the matter of terrorism, and that too when Indian Mujahideen terrorists were carrying out blasts at different places in the country.

Many members of this organization were from Azamgarh.

This organization was also getting the support of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The Azamgarh module of the Indian Mujahideen led to the death of hundreds of innocent people across the country.

These deaths happened in terrorist attacks. When the Batla House encounter happened in 2008, Digvijay Singh, Salman Khurshid, Mamta Banerjee, etc. raised questions on it.

Not only this, Digvijay Singh even went to Azamgarh and said that the Batla House encounter is fake.

Inspector Mohan Chandra Sharma, who received Veergati in this encounter, was told that he died of police bullets.

In 2012, at an election rally in Azamgarh, Salman Khurshid said that tears welled up in his eyes when he showed Sonia Gandhi the photos of the ‘boys’ killed at Batla House.

It is not hidden from anyone that later the court found this encounter to be true.
