More Than 300 Drones Seen On The Sensitive Indo-Pak Border

More than 300 drones seen on the sensitive border with Pakistan.

Over 300 drones or Unidentified Flying Objects (UAVs) have been sighted along the sensitive border with Pakistan since the abrogation of Article 370.

According to central agencies, the western border (mainly Jammu and Punjab) has witnessed 167 drone sightings in 2019, 77 last year, and 60 so far.

Let us tell you that on Sunday, two blasts were carried out targeting the Air Force Station in Jammu. Although no casualties were reported in these attacks, security experts are seeing it as a major threat.

This is an alarm bell for the country’s security system in the midst of challenges from the evil neighbor Pakistan and cunning China.

Work on these systems.

Specific anti-drone technologies like Sky Fence, Drone Gun, Athena, Skywall-100, and Drone Catcher are being worked on to prevent drone attacks

Drone gun: This jams the radio signal between the pilot and the drone and forces the drone to land before the attack.

Sky Fence: Through this, such signals are used on the drone, so that it loses its way.

Drone Catcher: It rapidly approaches the enemy drone and captures the drone by throwing a trap and jamming the other types of equipment in it

Athena: Advanced Test High Energy Asset is another weapon that is in the works. Through this, the work of the drone is accomplished by firing high-powered laser beams.

Has its own ‘watch and kill’ process.

Frontline units of the Border Security Force and various police units have adopted a ‘look-and-shoot’ process to spot drones, UAVs, and remotely operated aircraft in the air along the 3,323-km-long border.

A senior official said that to shoot down an enemy drone, the security guard would have to be alert on the ground and as soon as the drone is sighted.

It would have to shoot down or control it with a weapon like the INSAS rifle. It can be controlled only by adopting such a process.

A circular anti-drone system is available.

A senior military official said on condition of anonymity that a circular anti-drone security system is currently in place to secure any military installation or compound.

However, there is a need for a unilinear security cover for border security. Another official said the BSF had tested a prototype of an anti-drone system in October 2019.

First used in the Gulf War.

Although it is used for the delivery of medicines, taking pictures, and shooting videos, but the US military made military use of drones for the first time in 1991 during the Gulf War.

The US Air Force has also used it in space.

Many terrorist organizations are experimenting.

In addition to the Islamic State, Hezbollah, Houthi rebels operating in Palestine and Lebanon, several terrorist organizations operating in Pakistan along with the Taliban use drones for attacks.
