Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh said on Wednesday that the country is possibly facing the biggest humanitarian challenge since independence due to the Corona epidemic.

He said that the Indian Navy will collectively face this crisis with full potential.

In his message to the personnel, Admiral Singh said that the Navy will step up its efforts in providing medical aid as the epidemic is spreading in rural areas and people living in these areas need help.

He said, ‘I think there is probably no one of us whose family or any of our very close has not been infected by corona or hospitalized or is still not in a bad condition or died.

‘ The naval chief said, ‘Nobody knows when this epidemic will end. But I can say with full confidence that our courage and our determination will never end.

In this crisis, we will collectively stand like a navy team and do our best for the country, navy, and our communities. ‘

Commandant of Army Base Hospital transferred 3 months before retirement.

Major General Vasu Vardhan, Commandant of Indian Army Base Hospital, Delhi, has been shifted to Research and Referral Hospital.

Vasu’s transfer comes when there are three months left for his retirement. He will retire from service at the end of August.

The Army Base Hospital in Delhi is currently functioning as a 650-bed Covid Hospital, which is undergoing treatment for security forces personnel and ex-servicemen who are victims of the epidemic.

In place of Vasu, Major General SK Singh has taken over as Commandant of Delhi Base Hospital.

Covid-19: IAF flew 1400 hours in 21 days to improve oxygen supply in the country

Intensely involved in the transportation of medical oxygen and COVID relief operations, the IAF has flown over 732 of its transport aircraft and helicopters to move 498 oxygen tankers from both at home and abroad.

The Air Force has deployed 42 transport aircraft for this mega operation including six each C-17 and Ilyushin-76 transport aircraft and 30 medium-lift C-130Js and AN-32 aircraft.

IAF spokesperson told media, ‘In the domestic sector, our pilots have taken 634 consecutive flights for 939 hours to move 403 oxygen containers, carrying 6856.2 metric tons of oxygen along with 163.3 metric tons of other equipment.
