Naxalite attack on security forces camp in Bastar of Chhattisgarh under the guise of villagers, three killed.

On Monday, Naxals opened fire on the security forces camp set up in the border area of Silger in Sukma and Bijapur districts of Naxal-affected Sukma in Bastar division of Chhattisgarh.

Before the attack, the Naxals were gathering pressure to protest the camp of the rural security forces for the last four days.

On Monday, Naxalites attacked under the guise of these alleged protesting villagers. Three people were killed in retaliation by the force. Police have taken the dead bodies. However, the dead have not been identified.

Bastar IG P Sundararaj said that the Naxalites attacked the camp under the guise of the villagers at Silger camp located in Jagargunda police station area of the district at around 2 pm.

During this firing, three people died. He said that under pressure from the Naxalites, villagers were opposing the opening of the camp there from May 14.

After explaining, the villagers had left from there on Sunday, but more were gathered on Monday morning. They had sticks and traditional weapons in their hands.

The villagers started shouting slogans, when the bullets started firing then the security forces also retaliated. After this there was a stampede. The villagers fled from there. Later, three bodies have been recovered from the spot.

The Silger Panchayat of Konta Block is affected by Naxalites. There is not even a road to go. It is very difficult to go from Jagrgunda, so a camp has been set up by the soldiers of Bijapur there.

The police is also working to construct a road from Tarrem to Silger, which the Naxalites tried to dig.

Bastar IG P Sundararaj said that the camp was attacked suddenly under the guise of the villagers, after which the soldiers have taken action.

Three bodies have been found. There are dead bodies of all three men. He is being identified. The situation is under control at the moment. Security personnel are safe. The area is being searched.
