Naxalite Killed in Bijapur Encounter, Firing Ongoing
A Naxalite has been killed in an encounter in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. DRG and STF teams continue heavy firing in Gangaluur forest. Operation is ongoing.

DRG and STF teams are conducting operations in the forests of the Gangaluur police station area, where heavy firing is taking place from both sides. Encounter with Naxalites in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.
A Naxalite was killed in an encounter with security forces on Wednesday (August 06, 2025) in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The encounter with Naxalites is still going on in the jungles of the Gangalu police station area. Heavy firing is being done from both sides.
This operation is being carried out by DRG and STF teams. So far, the body of a Naxalite has been recovered, and weapons have also been recovered. Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P said the encounter started in the forest in the western part of the district when a joint team of security forces was out on an anti-Naxal operation.
Naxalite Killed in Bijapur Encounter: Operation still on
He said so far, the body of a Naxalite, along with a weapon, has been recovered from the spot. The Inspector General said that since the operation is still on, further information cannot be given immediately. With this action, 227 Naxalites have been killed in encounters in Chhattisgarh so far this year, most of whom have been killed in the Bastar division.
Many Naxalites are likely to be killed
Security forces are still present inside the forest, and the encounter is going on. The operation was launched after concrete information about the presence of Maoists. According to sources, many Naxalites are likely to be killed in this encounter.
