NIA raids at many places including Anantnag, five arrested: Jammu Kashmir.

NIA raids are going on in many places including the Anantnag district of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Other details are awaited.

Today i.e. as soon as Sunday morning, NIA officials reached Anantnag and other districts and started conducting various raids.

According to sources, simultaneous raids of NIA officers are going on at 10 other places including the Anantnag district of the state.

Although it is not yet disclosed where the raids have been conducted, one thing is clear that the NIA has conducted raids in the direction of cracking down on hawala traders.

Meanwhile, according to information received from reliable sources, NIA, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF, raided Darul Uloom in Nawabazar, Kashmir.

NIA seized some documents, laptops, and detained its chairman Adnan Ahmed resident Hawal for questioning.

NIA raids are going on in Pushru Achabal, Sunsuma Achabal, Magre Pura Achabal of Anantnag district of South Kashmir.

Five people have been taken into custody by the NIA. They have been identified as Javed Ahmed son of Mohammad Shaban Mir resident Sunsuma Achabal.

Umar Butt son of Nisar Butt resident of Magre Mohalla, Owais Ahmed Butt son of Nisar Ahmed Butt resident of Moore Mohalla Achabal.

Tanveer Ahmed Butt, son of Ghulam Ahmed Butt resident of Guri Mohalla Achabal, and Zeeshan Amin Malik son of Mohd. Amin Malik is a resident of Pushru Nigam.

Shigan was a wolf in police uniform, used to disappear from duty after getting orders for crime from across the border

Police constable Abdul Rashid Shigan is also among the government employees who were discharged on the basis of sedition and involvement in terrorist activities.

Currently, Shigan, who is in jail, is not a minor terrorist, he was a true wolf in police uniform.

He would commit crimes under the code name of Umar Mukhtar and then call the media persons to inform them that it was carried out by the Kashmir Islamic Movement.

He used to take a former terrorist with him to commit any crime. He used to commit crimes at the behest of Hizbul Mujahideen.

He committed 13 sensational crimes in the city of Srinagar during the 18 months before he was caught on 22 August 2012. Batamaloo’s Shigan was a terrorist before joining the police in 1998.

He was caught when he was doing police training. He was imprisoned under the Public Safety Act. After that, he was released. In 2002, he was reinstated in the police department on a court order.

In his reinstatement, the name of the then officer of the rank of DIG is taken. Shigan was later posted to the security wing of the police.

Occasions:

The incidents he carried out from January 2011 till his capture on 22 August 2012 shook the entire security system. There was no trace of him.

He was posted in the security of the house of the then SSP BA Khan of Bandipora.

When he got the order to attack from across, he would disappear from duty and then return. No one knew when he left and when he came.

On January 4, 2011, he attacked the Batmalu police station in-charge of Nazir Ahmed and injured him. On 29 June 2011, Inspector Shabbir Ahmed was killed in Srinagar.

On 2 December 2011, an attack on the blockhead of the NC at Safakadal in Srinagar injured him.

On 11 December 2011, he attacked the then Rural Development Minister and senior NC leader Ali Mohammad Sagar in Nawabazar, Srinagar. A police constable was martyred in this.

On 24 December 2011, he killed NC leader Bashir Ahmed in Dhobi Mohalla Batamaloo.

Shigan attempted the murder of Sufi scholar Pir Jalaluddin in Batamul on 17 March 2012. Police constable Sukhpal Singh was murdered on 20 April 2012 in Bagiyas Srinagar.

On 30 May 2012, he attacked CRPF jawans. Seven soldiers were injured.

On 10 August, 12 days before he was caught on 22 August 2012, he killed Abdul Hameed Butt, a retired DSP of the police, on the steps of a mosque in Batamaloo. and

He used to target only those policemen and officers who were at the forefront of the counter-terrorist operation.

Apart from this, he used to target Islamic scholars and people associated with mainstream politics who did not agree with the fundamentalist ideology of Islam.

A government rifle was not used in the crime. When his house was searched, two AK-47 rifles, 16 magazines, 13 UBGLs, one IED, four pistols, five grenades, and other paraphernalia were found.
