Novak Djokovic Started With A Win At The Italian Open

Novak Djokovic started with a win at the Italian Open, treated the judge well. After being eliminated from the US Open 2020, Novak Djokovic started on to play his first match at the Italian Open in which he won.

Top ranking Serbian player Novak Djokovic behaved well in his first match on Wednesday after being unceremoniously eliminated at the US Open.

He won the Italian Open 6-3, 6–2 against wild card holder Salvatore Caruso in the second round, and during this time he appeared to be treating the umpire most of the time.

In the first set, when the umpire came to see the mark of the ball on the red gravel and he did it in favor of Caruso, Djokovic merely responded, yes, and erased the mark with his red shoes.

When Caruso impressed him with his performance, Djokovic said ‘fantastic’. At the same time, Rome’s Mateo Beretini defeated Federico Correa 7-5, 6-1, and Marin Cilic defeated David Goffin 6-2, 6-2.

Wawrinka lost out of the tournament

On the other hand, Stan Wawrinka lost in his opening match and pulled out of the tournament. Wawrinka was beaten by 18-year-old Lorenzo Musetti Musetti 6–0, 7–6. On the other hand, American player Coco Gough won the first round match, while Angelique Kerber lost.

Gough defeated Ons Jabour 6-4, 6-3. German Karber was defeated by Katerina Ciniakova 6-3 6-1. Significantly, the biggest contender for the title at the US Open was Novak Djokovic, as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal did not participate in the US Open.

Even Novak Djokovic continued to win and was close to reaching the semi-finals, but he inadvertently made a mistake, which he had to pay for and was eliminated from the tournament. At the same time, the US Open title was won by Dominic Thiem of Austria. Thiem defeated Alexander Zverev.
