The story of South African women’s cricket team batsman Tajmin Brits is inspirational for any youngster. Tajmin has a tattoo of the Olympic rings on her biceps.

She has become a successful cricketer today after overcoming many troubles in life and is now close to making South Africa the World Cup champion for the first time.

Olympics Dream Shattered: 32-year-old Tajmin Brits are currently the center of discussion.

She played a match-winning inning of 68 runs and took 4 wonderful catches in the semi-final match against England in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 on Friday.

A performance from the Brits helped South Africa beat England by 6 runs and enter the World Cup final for the first time.

Olympics Dream Shattered: Defeated Death.

Tajmin Britts was badly injured in a serious car accident at a young age. Her Olympic dream was shattered. The Brits were close to representing the country in the javelin event.

Apart from this, Brits also used to have thoughts of suicide. Rising above these troubles, Tajmin Brits is a successful cricketer today and is shining brightly at the international level.

Tajmin Britt’s Family.

Born on 8 January 1991 in Clerksdope, North West Province, Tajmin comes from a family of athletes. Her mother was a tennis player while her father and brother played rugby.

This affected Tajmin as well and she chose Javelin as her favorite sport.

After many years of hard work, the Brits won the title at the Junior World Championships in the Czech Republic in 2007. Then her age was 16 years.

Serious Car Crash.

The Brits enjoyed considerable success in the javelin and secured a place in the South African team at the 2012 London Olympics.

Eight months before her Olympic debut, the Brits were on her way home from dinner but were involved in a serious car accident on the way back.

Brits lost control of her car and were thrown out of the car as she was not wearing a seat belt. Things got worse when the car fell on top of her. Young Tajmin suffered multiple injuries.

The Brits were fortunate to survive the serious accident, but their Olympic dreams were shattered. The South African athlete was in a wheelchair when she was released from the hospital.

She was not able to do any work without the help of her mother. Brits’ troubles were compounded when her injury never fully healed and required another surgery.

Call From Cricket.

The Brit’s Olympic dream was shattered and the junior world champion could not think of javelin until January 2018. She was determined to try his hand at this game again.

Meanwhile, Brits worked at a local grocery store. However, some impressive performances in the local circuit earned the Brits a call-up to cricket.

She soon got a chance in domestic cricket and his talent was recognized.

Turned T20 Specialist.

Brits made her international debut in 2018. She was fed as a T20 specialist. However, the Brits did not find a place in the team for the 2020 T20 World Cup.

Leaving behind another disappointment, the Brits made her ODI debut in 2021 and featured in last year’s ODI World Cup in New Zealand.

Havoc of Brits.

Tajmin Brits have impressed with her consistent performances and earned a place in the South Africa squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup on home soil.

She scored 45 and 50 against Australia and Bangladesh respectively in the group stage. Then became the hero of the country by scoring 68 runs in the semi-finals.

Brits scored six fours and two sixes during his innings. He shared a 96-run partnership for the first wicket with Laura Wolvaardt.

The final of the Women’s T20 World Cup between South Africa and Australia will be played in Cape Town on Sunday.

According to Indian time, this match will start at 6:30 pm and the toss will take place half an hour earlier.

The Brits will be hoping to repeat her semi-final performance in the final and create history by being crowned champions for the first time.
