‘Home Minister’s Medal’: The Ministry of Home Affairs sought recommendations from the states and union territories, know when the award was started.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sought recommendations for the ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation’ award till April 30, 2022.
The recommendations have been sought from the Chiefs of Police Forces of all the States and Union Territories as well as Central Investigation Agencies.
The order said that the names of the candidates received after April 30 will not be considered.
The award was started in 2018.
Actually, this medal is given on the basis of excellence in an investigation to members of the police force of central investigative agencies, states, or union territories.
The award was started in 2018 by the then Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The award was instituted with the objective of promoting high professional standards of crime investigation and in recognition of such excellence in the investigation by the investigating officers.
The purpose of this medal is to encourage the policemen.
