Pakistan Disregards The Ceasefire On LoC In J&K

Pakistan disregards the Ceasefire on LoC for the fifth successive day. Pakistan kept disregarding the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) for the fifth successive day on Friday by utilizing little arms and mortars in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch and Rajouri districts.

For the fifth sequential day, the Pakistan armed force utilized little arms and was shelling with mortars to focus on the Indian posts on the LoC in the two areas.

The defense ministry spokesman, Colonel Devender Anand told media, “On May 22, 2020, at about 3.30 a.m., Pak started the unprovoked ceasefire violations by firing with little arms and shelling with mortars along Line of Control in Krishna Ghati sector,  Poonch (J&K).

“Indian armed force is fighting back befittingly,” he said.

The force said that again at about 7.20 a.m., Pakistan started the violations of the ceasefire in the Nowshera Part in the Rajouri Area in Jammu. The Indian Armed force was giving them befitting answer to this additionally, said the military.

Pakistan has been regularly violating the ceasefire understanding marked between the two nations in October 2003.

Senior armed force officers believe these ceasefire violations are a deliberate attempt by the Pakistan army to give fire cover to terrorists so that they can sneak into the Indian side.

The Pakistani Armed force has been persistently focusing on the Keran Valley, Poonch, Uri Division, Krishna Ghati and Akhnoor areas in the Jammu & Kashmir UT.

In 2019, a sum total of 3,200 occurrences of ceasefire violations by Pakistan over the LoC was accounted for when contrasted with 1,629 episodes in 2018, the Ministry of Defence has stated.
