Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated Tokyo Paralympic champion Avani Lekhara on winning a gold medal in the Para Shooting World Cup. He lauded this historic achievement.

The Prime Minister also expressed happiness over shooter Sriharsha Devreddy winning the gold medal in his category.

Lekhada on Tuesday won a gold medal at the Para Shooting World Cup in the women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 with a world record score of 250.6 in Chateauroux, France.

Khelo India Youth Games: In hockey, UP beat Punjab 5-4, and Haryana beat Bihar 14-1.

Under the Khelo India Youth Games-2021, decisive matches were held in the Men’s Hockey League match at the Markandeshwar Hockey Astroturf Stadium in Shahabad, Kurukshetra on Tuesday.

The first match in the morning was played between Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh beat Punjab 5-4. With this, the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab reached the semi-finals. The second match has been between Haryana and Bihar.

Playing one-sided, Haryana won the match 14-1. Both the teams were eliminated from the Khelo India Youth Games.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Akhil Pilani inaugurated the match between Haryana and Bihar. The match between Haryana and Bihar was spectacular in the early stages itself.

The players of the Haryana team remained in an attacking position and won the match 14-1. The Haryana team had a match drawn on the first day.

Khelo India got out of the Youth Games due to fewer points in the league match. The Bihar team was also out of the games.

Jharkhand and Odisha won the hockey league matches.

Two matches were played in the evening session. The first match was played between Jharkhand and Chandigarh. In this Jharkhand, the team defeated the Chandigarh team by 5-2 goals.

The last match was played between Odisha and Manipur. Odisha team defeated Manipur team by 8-0 goal difference. Jharkhand and Odisha have made it to the semi-finals of this pool.
