Renuka’s disorder.

Once Goddess Renuka, the wife of Maharishi Jamadagni, had gone to take a bath in the lake, seeing King Chitraratha rowing a boat.

Renuka’s mind was disturbed, and seeing this disorder, sage Jamadagni got very angry.

Sage’s Wrath.

Sage Jamadagni ordered his sons to kill mother Renuka out of anger, but none of the sons could do it because of their attachment to the mother.

Due to this, the anger of the sage increased even more and he cursed all his sons to be killed with wisdom and discretion.

After this, when he ordered Parshuram to kill Renuka, following his father’s order, Parshuram ji raised his sword and severed Renuka’s head.

Seeing this, Parshuram’s father was pleased with him and asked him to ask for three boons.

Three blessings.

As told by his father, Parshuram ji asked him for three boons. The first is to revive the mother, the second is to restore the intellect of the brothers, and the third is longevity-to be invincible.

The father gave all three boons to Parashurama, after which Parashurama became invincible and immortal forever.
