Petition Filed In Supreme Court Regarding Ayodhya Mosque Trust

Petition filed in the Supreme Court for the appointment of government representative in Masjid Trust in Ayodhya. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the appointment of the representative of the government in the Ayodhya Mosque Trust set up for the construction of a mosque in Ayodhya. This petition has been filed by Karunesh Shukla, a lawyer from the Hindu side in Ayodhya case through his lawyer Vishnu Jain.

The Sunni Central Waqf Board of Uttar Pradesh has formed a 15-member trust ‘Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation’ for the construction of a mosque on the land allotted in Ayodhya by the UP government on the direction of the Supreme Court.

It should be noted that on November 9 last year in the Ayodhya case, the court directed the Central Government to give the disputed land for the construction of the temple and to form a trust. The court also directed the government to allot five acres of land for construction of the mosque at a prominent place in Ayodhya to the Sunni Waqf Board.

The government allotted 5 acres of land in Dhanipur village of Ayodhya

According to a press release issued by the board, under the Supreme Court’s decision and order in the Ayodhya case, the Uttar Pradesh government allotted 5 acres of land in Dhanipur village in Ayodhya and the board accepted it in February 2020. The board has formed a trust named Indo Islamic Cultural Foundation for its construction.

Zafar Ahmed Farooqi will be the Chief Trustee

The trust will have a maximum of 15 trustees. The Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board will be its founding trustee, while Zafar Ahmed Farooqi will be its chief trustee. According to the board’s release, the trust will build a mosque as well as a hospital, library, community kitchen, museum, and research center on the five acres of land found in Ayodhya. The foundation will open a separate bank account for the construction of the mosque. Its decision was taken in the first meeting of the foundation recently.
