Pilot, crew-members to undergo alcohol test before the flight, license canceled for 3 years if found guilty. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked the airline companies to resume the pilot test of pilots and crew members before the flight.

In the wake of the Corona epidemic, he ordered the Breath Analyzer (BA) test to be discontinued on 29 March this year. DGCA has amended its earlier order and issued a new order.

Accordingly, personnel other than pilots and crew members will not be tested. The first order will be effective for them. It has said that 10 percent of the pilots and crew members in domestic flight operations should undergo BA tests daily.

On the other hand, international flights should have a daily percentage test. However, due to the Corona epidemic, international flights are operated only under the Vande Bharat mission.

Significantly, the previous order stated that the personnel associated with the aviation sector would have to pledge that they were not under the influence of alcohol and that they had not consumed alcohol till 12 hours before the reporting time. It was also warned that if the rules are violated by the workers, their license will be suspended for three years.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has clarified that passengers coming from abroad will be allowed to catch domestic connecting flights only if they are negative after the corona check at the entry port. As per the order issued by the ministry, all passengers coming from abroad have to undergo an RT-PCR test before catching a connecting flight.

They will be able to catch domestic connecting flights to their city only if they test negative. It will take about seven hours for the corona investigation report to arrive. During this time they will have to spend time in the lounge of the entry port.

The order of the ministry states that if the result of the RT-PCR test is negative, the international traveler will be allowed to catch his domestic flight and will not be required to undergo any institutional quarantine in the destination city.

The order stated that the corona test results would come within a maximum of seven hours. The passenger will have to stay at the entrance lounge of the entry airport until the results arrive.
