PNB Scam: Fugitive Mehul Choksi may soon come to India, private jet arrives in Dominica from India.

Efforts to bring Mehul Choksi, an accused in the Punjab National Bank-related scam, are intensifying.

On the fugitive diamond businessman in Dominica’s police custody, the Indian government has made it clear that Choksi should be handed back to India.

At the same time, an aircraft from India has reached Dominica to bring Mehul Choksi back. The Prime Minister of Antigua, Gaston Brownlee, has himself confirmed this.

He was quoted by local media as saying that a private vehicle from India is currently standing at the Jagas Charles Airport in Dominica.

Choksi’s extradition is currently banned.

The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC), taking cognizance of the habeas corpus petition of fugitive diamond trader Mehul Choksi, has barred him from being sent out (extradition) till the next hearing.

The next hearing, in this case, will be on June 2. ECSC Justice ME Birney Stephenson imposed an injunction on Friday to restrain the defendants.

However, the court has also allowed Mehul Choksi to visit his lawyer and go to the hospital for treatment and examination of Corona.

Before that, the news of the disappearance of fugitive diamond trader Mehul Choksi living in Antigua and Barbuda suddenly came to light.

Mehul Choksi is wanted in a case of alleged fraud of Rs 13,500 crore with Punjab National Bank (PNB).

Officials said on Tuesday that the CBI investigating the allegations against Choksi is verifying these reports through “formal and informal” forums.

Interpol has also issued a ‘Red Corner Notice’ against him at the request of the agency.
