Police Arrested Two Clerics In Kashmir Under Public Safety Act

Police arrested two clerics in Kashmir under Public Safety Act, and sent them to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu.

The police on Thursday allegedly arrested two clerics operating in Kashmir and shifted them to Ket Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.

However, the police have not officially issued any statement in this regard. Both the arrested clerics are residents of South Kashmir.

While Maulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri is counted among the prominent preachers and Ulema of Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadith. The number of followers of these donations in Kashmir is in the thousands.

Originally from Kulgam in South Kashmir, Abdul Rashid Dawoodi runs an organization called Tehreek-e-Sout-ul-Auliya. This organization also has a big madrasa in Anantana Gaman.

Tehreek-e-Saut-ul-Auliya Joint Secretary Mohammad Ishaqa Dar Nizami told the media over the phone that the police have not given any reason for arresting Abdul Rashid Dawoodi Sahab.

This morning he got a call from the Anantnag police station.

He was called to the police station. Our organization president Fayaz Ahmed Rizvi also accompanied him. Dawood sahib was arrested by the police there.

Maulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, a related Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadith, has already been jailed under the Public Safety Act.

He has been glorifying the dreaded terrorist organization ISIS and terrorists Zakir Musa and Burhan Wani in their speeches.

He is said to be involved in inculcating jihadi mentality among Kashmiri youth. His close relatives told that Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri had received a call from the police station at 7.30 am this morning.

After that, he went to the police station. Today afternoon at around 2.30 pm, they have been taken to the Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu, both of them Maulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi.
