Pooja Devi: First Female Bus Driver Of Jammu And Kashmir: Pooja stops bus steering to drive the wheel of life.

Pooja Devi, the first female bus driver of Jammu and Kashmir, is in the news these days but has also faced opposition from family and society to get into this profession.

Pooja met with a different dream by facing her. Mother is proud of her daughter today, while in-laws are also proud of her daughter-in-law.

The encouragement of husband and children encouraged Pooja further. The central government has saluted the spirit of the daughter of the new Jammu and Kashmir.

Pooja of Jandrali village of Basohli in district Kathua used to run after a child when a carriage passed through the area. The father died in childhood. Mother raised all. She has three sisters and a brother.

Pooja, 34, married in Sandhar village, says she was fond of driving and flying airplanes since childhood. Due to family poverty, she could not read much but kept suppressing the dream in her mind.

Initially, the family had to face social difficulties when she insisted to learn driving. Also did tailoring for some time. Married in the year 2004 in Sandhar village.

Husband Somraj works in another state if no work is available here. She has three children. Elder daughter and son are studying in the village near grandparents.

Younger son Karthik stays with her. Have rented house in Shakti Nagar in Jammu. She leaves for the bus in the morning. On getting time, she teaches Karthik on the bus.

The daughter-in-law’s decision is right: Pooja’s father-in-law was once against becoming the daughter-in-law’s driving, but today he is happy that her daughter-in-law’s decision is fine.

Pooja’s father-in-law Krishna Chand said that it is a matter of time, we have changed, we have changed our thinking and now feel good, they are proud of their daughter-in-law.

Has illuminated the name of the entire family. And daughters should get into the driving profession. We belong to a remote village. Slowly our thinking is changing towards daughters-in-law.

Pooja says that drivers are also like pilots of the aircraft. This profession is no small one. Male drivers also need change. Good behavior can win anyone’s heart.

I am proud that she brings the lives of 50 people to a safe destination while driving. Many times people have seen that they fight for a little money. People do not know that she too has any compulsions.

According to Pooja, she did not think that when she drives the bus, people will not sit on the bud due to the female drivers. The kind of love people are giving her, she did not expect it at all. Buses run on Jammu to Kathua route.

Learned driving five years ago:

About five years ago she learned to drive a car from his maternal uncle. After that, she talked to Rajendra Singh, a truck driver of Chhann Roads of Kathua to fulfill his passion for driving a big car.

He taught me to drive a trolley from a truck. She also got a license to drive heavy vehicles during the TRAI from Kathua Transport Department. The truck ran between Jammu-Pathankot for a year.

A few months ago, she went to union manager Rashpal Singh at the Jammu bus stand.

When she expressed her desire to run the bus, he said yes. Four days ago, Rashpal Singh let her run the bus. She expresses her most gratitude.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh praised:

There are discussions of worship everywhere in Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State from the Prime Minister’s Office, who arrived at the function in Kathua on Friday, appreciated the worship.

He said that our daughters are ahead in every field. According to traffic wing top police officials, Pooja drives a better bus than men. Adopts entire traffic rules.

Pooja brought a new thought:

Ravindra Singh, a bus driver, said that people associated with the driver profession are proud of Pooja. She drives very well.

The arrival of Pooja Devi will bring honor to her profession. Our way of living and talking will definitely change. Pooja has brought new thinking.

According to him, it seems strange to hear a woman driving a bus but it shows the equality of man and woman in this society.
