Press Index: “We have the most uncontrollable press”, Jaishankar said – I am surprised to see the country’s falling number in the press ranking.

The press is most uncontrollable in India. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said this on Sunday in response to a question about India’s low ranking on the Press Index.

During a session on the foreign policy of the Modi government, Jaishankar said I am surprised to see our numbers.

I thought we had the most out-of-control press and something was going fundamentally wrong.

Comparing India’s rank with Afghanistan, the External Affairs Minister said that Afghanistan was independent of us before.

Can you imagine? When saying all this, I mean looking at Democracy Index, Freedom Index, Religious Freedom Index, and Press Index.

What did Jaishankar say about the press index?

Meanwhile, Jaishankar termed the press index as a ‘mind game.

The statement comes days after Reporters Without Borders (RSF) released its press index and ranked India at 161st position, while Afghanistan’s ranking was 152nd.

Let us inform you that last year India was in the 150th position and this time India has lost 11 places.

Jaishankar lashed out at Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, Jaishankar taunted former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. He said that he is taking classes from the Chinese Ambassador to China.

He said that I would have offered to take classes in China from Rahul Gandhi, but I came to know that he was taking classes in China from the Chinese ambassador.

The External Affairs Minister referred to Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to India during the Doklam crisis.

He said that I know that everything is political in politics. I accept that, but I do feel that on certain issues we have a collective responsibility not to undermine our collective position abroad. Meanwhile, he also targeted the wrong statements.
