R Ashwin holds a surprise record during Melbourne Test, leaving Muralitharan behind India vs Australia test series.

Team India’s spinner R Ashwin is looking in a good rhythm in the Test series against Australia and taking fierce wickets.

In the Adelaide Test match, he took four wickets in the first innings while in the second innings he got a breakthrough.

He took three wickets in the first innings and two wickets in the second innings in Melbourne in the Boxing Day Test match.

That is, he took five wickets in the first test and also five in the second test. In two Tests, he has taken 10 wickets so far.

R Ashwin’s new world record, Muttiah Muralitharan lags behind

During the Melbourne Test match, R Ashwin held an amazing record and surpassed former Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.

In fact, R Ashwin during this match took the world record of dismissing a left-handed batsman 192 times in Test cricket.

Earlier this record was in the name of Muttiah Muralitharan, who had dismissed the left-handed batsman 191 times during his Test career. Now this record has been named after R Ashwin.

R Ashwin has taken 375 wickets in Test cricket so far, in which he has taken 192 wickets for left-handed batsmen.

Muralitharan is the highest bowler to take 800 wickets in Test cricket and he took the wickets of 191 left-handed batsmen during this period.

In this case, at number three is James Anderson, who has taken 186 wickets out of 600 wickets left-handed batsmen in Test cricket so far.

Former Indian spinner Anil Kumble is at number six in the S List who has taken the most Test wickets from India. He took 167 wickets from left-handed batsmen out of a total of 619 wickets in Tests.
