Raid on 26 locations of former Tamil Nadu minister SP Velumani, 7 AIADMK MLAs detained.

In Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, raids are on by DVAC i.e. Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption at the premises of former state minister SP Velumani.

DVAC is conducting searches at 26 places including Chennai, and Coimbatore in connection with allegations related to former Minister of State SP Velumani.

The former minister is accused of misusing his official position in unfairly awarding tenders to his close associate companies.

AIADMK workers are present at the bar of his house and protesting against this action against the minister.

According to a news agency, Tamil Nadu Police has detained 7 AIADMK MLAs and several activists for protesting outside the residence of former state minister SP Velumani in Coimbatore against the raid by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.

However, this is not the first time that former AIADMK minister SP Velumani has been screwed.

Earlier in July, the Income Tax Department had raided the premises of his close aide Chandrashekhar. It was told that at that time the Income Tax Department had raided 6 places.

In Tamil Nadu’s capital Chennai, the state Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Directorate (DVAC) had recently arrested a Village Administrative Officer (VAO) and Revenue Inspector (RI) for allegedly demanding and taking bribes in separate cases.
