Railway’s big announcement for the safety of women, crime will be curbed like this: Indian Railways.
The railway has instructed to demolish the platforms, yard, and adjoining loosened structures.
This step will be taken under the new guidelines of the Railways in the direction of curbing crimes against women. RPF DG Arun Kumar has issued an order in this regard to the officials.
The order calls for the immediate demolition of buildings lying away from platforms and yards, empty quarters, platforms, where there is no security and movement.
Until these are demolished, the duty staff will continue to monitor those places on a regular basis. Especially at night or at a time when there is very little surveillance of people.
Along with this, a database of people involved in crimes against women in the railway premises will also be prepared.
The order said that all the post commanders should take details of crimes against women including rape in the last five years and review the data.
Railway personnel should have a picture of the culprits involved in such crimes. The DG said that an immediate and long-term plan should be prepared on the basis of data analysis. Immediate action should be taken on immediate schemes.

Long-term plans will include steps such as basic infra reforms, installation of CCTVs, and other aspects of security.
The officials have also been asked to take steps such as keeping a watch on the female coach and keeping the security personnel stationed at the time of arrival and departure of the train.
It also asks to ensure that the WiFi available on the railway platform is not used to download porn.

It said, ‘All post commanders (PCs) should obtain details of crime incidents including rape against women in the last five years, and analyze the data thoroughly.’
The order states that railway passengers Are providing free internet services too. Co-ordination with service providers should be ensured that porn sites are not available through this service.
A close watch on women’s coaches
The DG said that an action plan should be prepared on the basis of data analysis and should be classified as a short-term and long-term plan. In the order, the officers have been asked to keep a close watch on the coaches of the women.
