Rajiv Gandhi Foundation’s License Canceled On Charges Of Foreign Funding

Rajiv Gandhi Foundation’s license was canceled, and action was taken on charges of foreign funding.

The Central Government has canceled the license of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, an NGO affiliated with the Gandhi family, for alleged violation of the law.

This action comes after an inquiry conducted by an inter-ministerial committee constituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2020.

After the investigation, the Ministry of Home Affairs took action.

An official said that the FCRA license of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation has been canceled after an inquiry was conducted against it.

The ministry had constituted this committee to probe the violation of various legal provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), Income Tax Act, Foreign Contribution Regulatory Act (FCRA), etc.
