Rewarded Naxalite has been killed in an encounter. One lakh reward carrying Naxalite has been killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh.
In the Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, a rewarded Naxalite has been killed in an encounter between Naxalites and security forces this morning.
The name of the slain Naxalite is being referred to as Vikas Semla, who has been involved in several Naxalite incidents in Bijapur and surrounding districts.
A reward of one lakh rupees was declared on him. However, the identity of the killed Naxalite has not been revealed by the police.
As part of the anti-Maoist campaign, the force which went out on search had an encounter with Naxalites on Friday morning in which one lakh Naxalites were killed.
In the Basaguda police station area of Bijapur district, the personnel of the district force and CRPF 168 battalion had gone out on the search. According to the information, the encounter took place in the forest between Korsaguda and Outpalli at around 9.30 am.
Seeing the police falling heavily, the Naxalites fled from there. In the search of the incident site, the body and other material of prize money of one lakh rupees have been recovered. SP Kamalochan Kashyap has confirmed the incident.
Naxalites are now continuously declining in the Bastar region. Members of the Naxalite organization are also continuously surrendering to avoid being killed in police encounters.
On the other hand, there is a split in the Naxalite organization. Recently, two Naxalite leaders were killed in Bastar by members of their organization.
Inspector-General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundararaj P said that the encounter took place at 9:30 am inside a forest between Korsaguda and the outskirts under the Basaguda police station area.
He said that the patrolling team, comprising the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local police personnel, lost control over the forest when it caught fire. The IPS officer said that the security personnel retaliated rapidly.
