Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna has done wonders at the age of 42 by making it to the doubles semi-finals of the French Open 2022.

Rohan played a brilliant game with Holland partner Matvey Middlekoop to win the French Open quarter-finals. This is the first time since 2015 that he has made it to the semi-finals of a Grand Slam.

With his middle-cup partner, he defeated Britain’s Lion Glaspool and Finland’s Harry Heliovara 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 to exit the tournament.

After suffering a loss in the first set, the pair made a strong comeback and secured a ticket to the semi-finals by winning the next two sets.

The pair of Bopanna and Matvey has shown a very good game so far in this tournament. Earlier, both of them together made a big difference by defeating the winning pair of Wimbledon Open.

Hard-fought victory.

Rohan and Middle Cup won the quarter-finals after a tough fight that lasted two hours and four minutes. For the first time in the year 2008, Indian star Rohan participated in the French Open.

Since then, he has not been able to make it to the semi-finals.

Looking at Bopanna’s performance in this tournament, in 2011, 2016, 2018, and 2021, he managed to reach the quarter-finals with his partner. This is the first time he has crossed this hurdle.

Rohan had last made a place in a Grand Slam semi-final in 2015 i.e. seven years ago. In 2015, he was successful in reaching the semi-finals of Wimbledon.
