Rohit Sharma Eyes Third Consecutive Clean Sweep

Rohit Sharma eyes third consecutive clean sweep, first T20 match on Wednesday: Ind vs WI.

Team India’s new limited-overs captain Rohit Sharma is not only a ‘big hitter’, but now he is also becoming a ‘clean sweeper’.

After becoming the full-time captain, Rohit first cleaned New Zealand 3-0 in the T20 series.

Then washed the West Indies 3-0 in the ODI series, and is now going to start on Wednesday at his Lucky Ground at the Eden Gardens Stadium.

In the three-match T20I series, he will be aiming to score a hat-trick of a clean sweep as captain. If Sharmaji is successful in doing this, then a big record will be recorded in his name as a captain.

On the other hand, the Caribbean team is also ready to make a strong comeback, forgetting the grief of the crushing defeat in the ODI series.

This is the same ground where the Windies team won the 2016 T20 World Cup by performing astonishingly.

T20 cricket is the most preferred format of the Caribbean players and the Windies team is full of T20 experts so it would be redundant to underestimate it in the shortest format of cricket.

It should also be remembered that the visiting team has come to India after defeating a strong T20 team like England.

Rohit Sharma eyes third consecutive clean sweep: So a fierce battle is expected between India and West Indies on three evenings in the Mecca of Asian cricket.

If we look at the statistics, there have been 17 T20 matches between the two teams so far, out of which 10 have been won by India and 6 in West Indies.

One match is inconclusive. India has played five T20 matches in Eden so far, out of which three have won and one has been lost. One match was canceled.

Rohit Sharma eyes third consecutive clean sweep: Not having options is a problem, but having more options is an even bigger problem.

Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, and Shikhar Dhawan started the innings with Rohit in three matches of the ODI series respectively.

Dhawan is not a part of the T20 team. Regular opener Lokesh Rahul has been ruled out of the series due to injury.

With the current team having several regular openers, the team management would hardly want to experiment with Pant again, with the first three being Ishaan Kishan, Venkatesh Iyer, and Rituraj.

Everyone’s eyes will be on Virat: In this series, everyone will definitely have an eye on Virat Kohli. Virat’s last ODI series was very bad. Far from a century, he could not even score a half-century.

There will also be a lot of psychological pressure on him to perform well as a pure batsman once he leaves the captaincy.

Suryakumar and Shreyas strong link in the middle order: Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer are strong links in the middle order, so Rohit would like to include both of them in the playing XI.

Suryakumar made a total of 104 in the ODI series while Shreyas played a match-winning inning of 80 runs in the third and last ODI.

There are all-rounders in the lower order like Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, and Harshal Patel, who are adept at bowling as well as changing the bat in the last overs.

Lots of Bowling Options: India also has a lot of bowling options. Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is making a comeback from T20.

There are fast bowlers like Muhammad Siraj, Avesh Khan, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, and Harshal Patel to support him.

The command of the spin department can be handed over to Yuzvendra Chahal, who has performed well in the ODI series.

Team management should also give chance to Rajasthan leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi in this series.

Windies team is full of T20 experts: On the other hand, the Caribbean team is full of T20 experts.

Captain Kieron Pollard has the ability to change the course of the match with his batting and bowling. Jason Holder is also in good form.

Rovman Powell played brilliant innings of 107 runs in 53 balls in the T20 series against England. All-rounders like Odion Smith and Akeel Hossain can prove to be ‘dark horses’.
