S-400 India Supply: Will The Biden Administration Ease Up

S-400 India Supply: Will the Biden administration ease up on Russian S-400 missiles, will Turkey impose sanctions on India?

Once again the discussion of India-US relations regarding the supply of the Russian missile system S-400 is in full swing.

US has banned Turkey from S-400 missiles. It was speculated that India may also incur the wrath of America after acquiring the Russian S-400.

However, the US has adopted a liberal approach towards India on this defense deal. A lobby in the US Parliament is supporting India’s defense deal.

In such a case, the question arises as to what is the major reason for American inclination towards India. Will the Biden administration impose sanctions on India like Turkey? Can India face US sanctions?

This question becomes more important when India went against America and did not participate in voting against Russia in the United Nations during the Ukraine war.

Let us know what the experts think about this.

S-400 India Supply: America’s top senator in favor of India.

A top Republican senator supports growing demands to exempt India from sanctions on its purchase of the S-400 missile system from Russia.

Tammy Tuberville, who was a member of the delegation that visited India and Southeast Asia last year, said that we support India’s exemption from sanctions for the purchase of Russia’s S-400 missile system.

Our relations with India are getting stronger. On the other hand, the US has expressed concern over Russia’s delivery of the S-400 missile system to India.

The Biden administration is still in doubt whether it will impose sanctions on India under the provisions of the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) for the purchase of the S-400 missile system.

The Biden administration is not in a position to ban India.

The Biden administration is not in a position to impose sanctions on India in the current situation.  India-US relations have now entered a new era. That’s why restrictions on India are not easy anymore.

The Biden administration will have to understand the security challenges India is facing from China in the South China Sea, Indian Ocean, and Taiwan, apart from the Russia-Ukraine war.

Apart from this, India cannot change its defense policy under the pressure of any other country. India’s foreign policy is independent.

Apart from this, the pro-India group in the US Senate is quite influential. The US Senate has a large number of MPs of Indian origin.

This powerful group will continue to pressure the Biden administration before taking any steps against India.

As such, there is little hope that the Biden administration will take any action against India. Biden will not impose military or economic sanctions on India.

India is a strategic partner of America.

America is currently focusing on Russia and China. The US has full focus on Russia and China. In the superpower race, China is now competing with America.

In such a way, America knows that India can be a great ally of America to crack down on China.

In the formation of the Quad, it has been decided that India’s role in the new defense strategy of America will be important. So America will never want India’s position in South Asia to weaken.

India has become a great need of America today, looking at the challenges of America.  India-US relations got a new direction during former US President Barack Obama’s tenure.

America had given India the status of a strategic partner. After this, there has been a lot of growth in defense agreements between India and America.

If the US imposes sanctions on India, then the strategic partner status will automatically end. This could cause a major blow to US defense sales.

The defense deal was done in the year 2018.

The US has expressed its displeasure over the supply of the Russian S-400 missile system since the beginning.

It is significant that this defense deal between India and Russia was done in the year 2018, since then America has been opposing this defense deal.

Not only this, but America has also threatened to ban India during the Trump regime, but India has stood by its stand since the beginning. India has repeatedly said that it is fully committed to a defense deal with Russia.

Many leaders of the Republican Party in the US Senate are in favor of India. A strong camp in the US parliament has been advocating this defense deal with India.
