SC seeks reply from UP government on the report of judge supervising SIT probe: Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.
In the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, a petition challenging the bail of Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home, was heard in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The court has sought a response from the Uttar Pradesh government on the report of the judge supervising the SIT investigation.
Seeing the report, the Supreme Court has said that the monitoring judge had written a letter to the state government to file an appeal to cancel the bail of Ashish Mishra.
SC seeks a reply from the UP government: The government should reply to this by Monday.
At the same time, the state government expressed ignorance about receiving the letter from the SIT judge.
The court adjourned the hearing till Monday, directing the government and the parties to give a copy of the report.
In this case, the court is hearing the petition of the relatives of those killed in the violence to cancel the bail of Ashish Mishra.
Let us tell you that the retired judge of the High Court, monitoring the SIT, has recommended petitioning for the cancellation of bail of Ashish Mishra.
For this, the judge wrote a letter to the Uttar Pradesh government and asked it to respond by Monday.

On October 3, 2021, the then Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya was visiting Lakhimpur Kheri.
In the Tikunia area, some farmers were protesting against the visit of the Deputy Chief Minister when an SUV car rammed into some people.
Violence broke out after this incident. A driver and two BJP workers were allegedly lynched by farmers enraged by the incident.
It is alleged that the car with which the farmers were crushed was driven by Ashish Mishra.
The SIT constituted by the Supreme Court submitted its report to the court. Ashish was arrested after the investigation of the SIT.
