Security Forces Have Killed Two Hizbul Mujahideen Terrorists

Security forces have killed two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in an encounter in Kulgam: Kulgam Encounter. 

Both Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed by security forces in Kulgam South Kashmir on Thursday.

Meanwhile, in Lal Chowk, Saraibala, and adjoining areas of the summer capital, the security forces conducted a cordon and search operation on suspicion of hiding the terrorists.

During the search, the identification parade of many people was also held.

According to information received from Kulgam, this afternoon the police had received information about the hiding of terrorists in Chawalgam.

At the same time, the police, along with the 9 RR personnel of the army, launched an operation to nab the terrorists.

As soon as the security forces tried to move forward while laying siege to the hideout of the terrorists in Chawalgam, the terrorists hiding there opened fire on them to break the siege.

The soldiers retaliated while defending themselves and after that, the encounter started there.

Local sources said that during the encounter, the security forces rescued many people from the houses located around the terrorist hideout.

He also asked the terrorists to surrender several times. The terrorists instead of surrendering continued firing. One terrorist was killed about 35 minutes after the encounter started.

After about an hour there was no firing from the other side, the security forces started moving forward to take possession of the body of the slain terrorist.

Other terrorists hiding there started firing on them. The soldiers also took their positions and retaliated. Another terrorist was also killed around 5 pm.

The slain terrorists have been identified as Yawar Ali Chopan and Yawar Bashir Dar. Yawar Ali became a terrorist seven months ago and Yawar Bashir about five months ago.

However, the police have not confirmed the identity of the slain terrorists.

Meanwhile, a joint task force of police and CRPF carried out a surprise cordon and search operation in the summer capital Srinagar’s Lal Chowk and Saraibal and their adjoining areas this afternoon.

During this, the security forces also allegedly closed many shops and also investigated the shopkeepers, those working in them, and the buyers.

The jawans also checked the vehicles passing in these areas and the identity cards of the passers-by. During this many identifications, parades were also held.

This search operation was carried out on the information of sighting of suspected terrorists in Lal Chowk and Saraibala. However, there is no information about any arrest.
