Seven soldiers have been martyred in an avalanche while guarding the country’s border in the border area of Arunachal Pradesh.
This army personnel was missing for the last two days after being hit by an avalanche. Officials said the bodies of all were found on Tuesday.
The President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Defense Minister, Governor, and Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh have expressed deep grief over the demise of the jawans.
The Army launched a search and rescue operation on Sunday to locate the missing person after an avalanche hit the high altitude area along the LAC in the Tawang sector in the West Kameng district.
“The bodies of all the seven jawans have been recovered from the avalanche site,” an official said.
Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of everyone involved in the campaign, all seven people have been confirmed dead.
“The bodies of the army personnel are being taken from the spot to the nearest military hospital to complete further formalities,” he said. All of them were soldiers of 19 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles.

The Army said that the supreme sacrifice of all these ranks was Havildar Jugal Kishore, RFN Arun Kattal, RFN Akshay Pathania.

Governor Brigadier (Retd) BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed deep grief over the incident and said that the sacrifices of the brave soldiers will always be remembered.
