SFI Worker Dheeraj Rajendran Cremated In Kannur

SFI worker Dheeraj Rajendran cremated in Kannur, was murdered during clashes at Idukki college.

The last rites of Dheeraj Rajendran, an activist of the students’ union SFI and a seventh-semester student of the Government Engineering College in Idukki, were performed at Taliparamba in Kannur district on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Let us tell you that Dheeraj Rajendran was allegedly murdered by political opponents.

The funeral rites were started from Idukki on Tuesday afternoon after public tributes were paid at the Government Engineering College and the CPI(M) Idukki District Committee office.

Thousands of people waited on their way to Taliparamba to pay tribute to SFI activist and student Dheeraj Rajendran.

Dheeraj’s last rites were performed in a land adjacent to the house on Tuesday night around 2 pm after the parents and relatives completed the rituals of the funeral procession at home.

This land was bought by CPI(M).

Let us tell you that on Monday, January 10, Dheeraj Rajendran was killed during clashes related to college union elections at Government Engineering College in the Idukki district of Kerala.

Subsequently, the SFI claimed that Dheeraj was stabbed to death by Youth Congress members. Two other students were also injured in this incident.

The SFI has alleged that Dheeraj and others were attacked by a Youth Congress worker. After the incident, instructions have been given to keep the college and hostel closed till further orders.

At the same time, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also condoled the death of the student.

He had said that attempts to create riots in colleges would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said that violence will not be allowed to spread in colleges under any circumstances.
