Later policemen nabbed him. Nihang has been identified as Harpreet Singh of Punjab. The whole accident happened on Tuesday night.

According to Delhi Police, a case of attempt to murder and theft is also registered against the accused Harpreet. Further inquiries continue.

According to the events, at around 8 pm on Tuesday night, a protestor named Harpreet Singh first snatched the car of a Delhi Police jawan on the sword.

Then after the police started chasing him, he left the car at Mukarba Chowk and then ran away with a scooty.

During this time when the police force SHO Samaypur Badli Ashish Dube started chasing him along with the rest of his staff, this man also attacked SHO Ashish Dubey with the sword.

SHO narrowly survived the attack. During this time, the SHO was admitted to the hospital in the night after a neck injury.
