Sopore Custodian Killing: Investigation into youth’s death in Sopore complete, family demands investigation report to be made public.

The investigation into the death of a young man allegedly in custody in September last year at Sopore in Baramulla district in North Kashmir has been completed.

The investigating officer has submitted his report to the district administration Baramulla. Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has demanded that the investigation report be made public.

The Sopore police detained Irfan Ahmed Dar on 15 September 2020 on the grounds of being an underground worker of terrorists.

Sopore Custodian Killing: According to the police, on the evening of September 16, Irfan had told about his whereabouts in the Tujjar Sharif area during interrogation. The police went to the said hideout with him, but he somehow escaped there.

The next morning, his body was found in a stone quarry nearby. He was accused by family members of his death in custody. Seeing the sensitivity of the case, the district administration ordered an inquiry into the case.

On 17 September 2020, the then-District Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla asked the ADC Baramulla to submit the report and submit the report in 20 days.

Later the period of investigation was extended.

Baramulla ADC Mohammad Ahsan said that the investigation into the death of Irfan Dar has been completed. The report has been submitted to the administration.

He refused to make the reason for Irfan’s death public, saying that only the concerned administration can tell everyone about the report, not me.

Meanwhile, Irfan’s brother Javed Akbar said that my brother was innocent. He was implicated in a fake case. He alleged that he was killed by torture while in custody. He has demanded that the investigation report be made public.

Two BSF Jawans Missing: Two BSF constables missing from Rajouri, police searching

There has been a stir after two Border Constables constables suddenly went missing from a camp in district Rajouri. BSF officers have lodged reports of the disappearance of both constables in the police.

The police have also continued their search to find both. As of now, no information related to both has been received.

According to the information received from the police, both these constables of BSF were posted in Sundarbani Upazila headquarters BSF camp under the General Duty category.

When these two constables did not return to the camp till late in the evening, there was a ruckus in the camp.

On the instructions of BSF officers, at first, the fellow jawans tried their best to find both, but when nothing was found, a missing report was lodged with the police.
