Srinagar Encounter During Amarnath Yatra: The army said that an encounter started between terrorists and security forces in the Lidwas area of Harwan in Srinagar on Monday.
According to the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, the encounter has started in the Lidwas area, and the operation is still going on. Meanwhile, officials said that a joint team of police, army, and CRPF has launched a cordon and search operation in the forest area of Mulnar near Mahadev.
He said that as soon as the security forces reached near the suspected place, the hidden terrorists started firing, after which the security forces also started retaliatory action.
Senior officers of the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have reached the spot to monitor the ongoing operation. Initial information suggests that a group of terrorists belonging to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit is trapped in the area. The operation is underway, and further information is awaited.

The process of reduction in the number of devotees for the Baba Amarnath Yatra has started. At the same time, today, on Sunday, the rituals of Chhari Sthapana were performed at Shri Amareshwar Temple Dashnami Akhara. Chhari Sthapana was done under the leadership of Mahant Dipendra Giri.
Chhari Puja will be performed in the Akhara on the occasion of Nag Panchami on Tuesday, July 29. Chhari Mubarak will leave for the holy cave from the traditional route, Pahalgam, on August 4. With darshan there, the annual Baba Amarnath Yatra will conclude on August 9, on the day of Raksha Bandhan.
