Actually, Asaduddin Owaisi had questioned J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha by tweeting about the closure of Srinagar Jama Masjid and asking why Jamia Masjid remains closed when cinema halls are open.
In response to Owaisi’s tweet, Srinagar Police said, ‘Jamia is completely open.
It was temporarily closed for Friday afternoon prayers only on 3 occasions after Covid, due to terrorist attacks, law and order situation, and terrorist inputs.
This was done after Jamia officials refused to take responsibility for the incidents inside the mosque. Staying away from the truth is not an excuse for ignorance.
What did Owaisi do?
In fact, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted tagging LG Manoj Sinha and said, ‘You have opened cinema halls in Shopian and Pulwama but why Srinagar Jamia Masjid remains closed every Friday?
At least do not turn it off during the afternoon matinee show.’ During this, Owaisi shared some pictures of the theater, in which Manoj Sinha was seen.
In fact, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, inaugurated the multiplex cinema hall in two cities of South Kashmir, Shopian, and Pulwama, on 18 September.
Let us tell you that after three decades, cinema halls have opened in the valley.
There were 12 famous cinema halls in the city of Srinagar, but they were closed in the 90s when militancy broke out in the valley.
