Surface-To-Air Missile Akash New Generation Successfully Tested

Surface-to-air missile Akash New Generation successfully test-fired: DRDO. An important step was taken in further strengthening India’s defense sector.

Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) officials said today, ‘India test-fired Surface-To-Air Missile Akash NG off the coast of Balasore in Odisha, which has been successful.

This is the second test firing of the missile to strike a range of 30 km in the last two days.

This missile defense system has been developed at DRDL (Defence Research & Development Laboratory) located in Hyderabad.

In this, the help of DRDO laboratories has also been taken.

All the equipment such as multifunction radar, command, control and communication system, and launcher were present from where the test was conducted.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO, BDL, BEL, Indian Air Force, and the defense industry of the country for the successful test.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted, “Congratulations to DRDO on the successful test-fire of the new version of Akash missile from the Integrated Test Center off Odisha coast.”

With this successful test, the way has been cleared for its construction by the army.

With this missile, the capability of the Indian Army has increased. On July 21 also, under self-reliant India, DRDO had test-fired an indigenously built low-weight portable antitank missile.

In December last year, the government had allowed the export of Akash missiles and constituted a high-level committee to look into its sale to various countries.

Wireless set, radio, and a round of AK-47 recovered from Lamberi in Rajouri district.

A wireless set and a round of AK-47 and some other items were recovered by the army in Lamberi village of Rajouri district on Friday morning. This recovery has been made during the search operation.

Defense Department officials have confirmed the news. However, it is not yet clear from where the wireless set and bullet were recovered, it was the hideout of any terrorists.

However, the police and security agencies are probing the matter.

According to the information, a party of 63 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army launched a search operation on the basis of some secret information in Lamberi village falling in Nowshahra tehsil of Rajoni district.

During this, the jawans recovered a wireless set, AK-47 rounds, a charger, and a radio set from a hideout.

SDPO Nowshera Zakir Shaheen Mirza said that the matter is being investigated as to how these goods came here. The whereabouts of terrorists or any helpers in this area are being ascertained.
