Talks started between BJP and AIADMK on seat sharing, G Kishan Reddy met CM: Tamil Nadu Election 2021.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and state election in-charge of BJP in Tamil Nadu G Kishan Reddy and state BJP chief L Murugan met Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Saturday.
The meeting was over seat-sharing for the assembly elections. Significantly, the Election Commission on Friday announced to hold assembly elections in five states, including Tamil Nadu.
The state will go to polls on April 6 in a similar phase with Puducherry and Kerala. The results will come on May 2.
Talks started between BJP and AIADMK: Explain that there are 234 seats in the state.
Here the BJP has an alliance with the ruling AIADMK (AIADMK) and the Congress with the DMK (DMK). The AIADMK will be trying to form a government in the state for the third consecutive time.
At the same time, DMK will be hoping to return to power after 10 years. Assembly elections will be held in the absence of the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and DMK mentor M Karunanidhi in the state.
Jayalalithaa died in 2016 and Karunanidhi in 2018. Apart from these two major parties of the state, actor Kamal Haasan’s party Makkal Nidhi Makkal Nidhi is also preparing to leave its mark in the elections.
He has said to start campaigning from March 3.
As soon as the election dates were announced, the Model Code of Conduct came into force. According to the Election Commission, elections will be held in five states simultaneously during the Corona epidemic after the Bihar assembly elections.
Due to this, the voting time has been increased by one hour. The number of polling stations in the state has also been increased from 66,007 to 88,936.
Assembly elections will be held in the state, following the Corona Protocol issued by the Union Health Ministry. Officers will wear masks, face shields, and gloves inside polling stations and use sanitizers.
