Naomi Osaka beat 63-ranked Patricia 6-4, 7-6: French Open.  Naomi Osaka wins, Angelik Kerber succumbed to vicissitudes.

World No. 2 Japan women’s tennis player Naomi Osaka made her debut with a win at the French Open on Sunday.

On the other hand, three-time Grand Slam champion and former number one Angelique Kerber were knocked out in the first round of the French Open Grand Slam for the third time in a row.

23-year-old Osaka defeated Romania’s Patricia Maria Tig in her first match to advance to the second round of the tournament.

Osaka, the defending winner of the US Open and Australian Open, has been playing in this tournament since 2019. She missed the French Open last year due to injury.

The 139th ranked world player Anhelina made an excellent start to the French Open after winning the ITF Challenger event in Portugal and Croatia.

Roland Garren is the only Grand Slam in which Kerber has not won the title. She has played 14 times in Paris out of which she has lost eight times. Her best performance here was reaching the quarter-finals in 2012 and 2018.

Osaka fined.

Naomi Osaka did not participate in the press conference after winning the first tour of the French Open, due to which she has been fined 15,000 US Dollars (about 10 lakh rupees).

Simultaneously, the French Tennis Federation president Gilles Moreton said that if she does not continue to speak to the media even after the fine, she will also face consequences for violating the code of conduct.

It is known that before the start of the French Open, Osaka announced that she would not talk to the media during this tournament.
