Terrorist attack in Shopian: CRPF jawan was sacrificed, Sarpanch narrowly saved in a terrorist attack in Pulwama.
A CRPF jawan, who came home on leave, sacrificed his life in the terrorist attack in Shopian on Saturday. Whereas in Pulwama a sarpanch narrowly survived the attack.
Security forces have launched a massive search operation. Police have registered both cases and started an investigation.
Significantly, in the last 12 days, terrorists have killed three panchayat representatives in Kashmir. According to information received from Shopian, two terrorists entered Chak Chotipara after sunset.
They inquired about Mukhtar Ahmed Doi, a CRPF personnel who had come home on leave a few days back.
During this time he saw Mukhtar. The terrorists opened fire on him without giving him a chance to defend him. He fell on the ground and the terrorists fled from there.
The injured Mukhtar Ahmed was taken to the hospital by relatives with the help of neighbors, where the doctors declared him a sacrifice.
Meanwhile, as soon as the information was received, officers of the police, army, and CRPF also reached the spot along with the team force.
They launched a search operation to nab the terrorists on the basis of clues received from the people present there.
Earlier in the afternoon, Sarpanch Ghulam Nabi Kumar at Lar Kool, Ahirbal in Pulwama district was informing the officials of the Rural Development Department about the construction work.
Suddenly there a terrorist took out a pistol and opened fire on the sarpanch. The sarpanch had seen the terrorist taking out the pistol.
As the terrorist opened fire, the sarpanch saved his life by hiding behind a tree. Seeing the failure of his plan, the terrorist also fled from there.
The police team reached the spot as soon as the news of the attack on the sarpanch was received. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
Last night, terrorists had killed a sarpanch by entering his house in Adura, Kulgam.
