A joint team of Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police, during a search operation in Gambhir Mughal jungle of District Rajouri, has recovered a huge amount of weapons and ammunition kept in it while destroying the terrorist hideout.

SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli informed about this. He said that this campaign was conducted on the basis of specific information.

A team of 38 RR and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel led by Deputy SP Operations Imtiaz Ahmad reached the forests of Gambhir Mughalan and started a search operation.

Several senior army officers including SDPO Manjakot Nisar Khuja and SHO Manjakot Pankaj Sharma were also involved in the operation.

A hideout was found near Gambhir Mughalan amidst the dense forests which had been built under the ground but his mouth was covered with stones.

After searching the hideout, a large number of arms and ammunition were found in it.

These include 02 automatic AK 47 rifles, 02 AK magazines, 270 AK bullets, 02 China-made pistols, 02 pistol magazines, 75 pika rounds, 12 empty rounds, 10 detonators, and 5-6 kg explosive material.

After the recovery of the weapons, the security forces have continued a search operation in the surrounding areas. The police suspect that the terrorists or their overground workers possessing the weapons remain in the vicinity.

The security forces, while continuing their counter-insurgency operations, arrested a terrorist in Pulwama on Thursday with two hand grenades.

According to the information, the police had received information that a militant was in a hurry to launch a grenade attack on the security forces at someplace in the Belu area of ​​Pulwama.

At the same time, the police, along with 44 RR personnel of the army, put up blockades at certain places and started monitoring suspicious elements passing through there.

Meanwhile, the soldiers posted at a block found the activity of a young man somewhat suspicious. When the soldiers seized him and searched, two grenades were found from him.

During questioning, he told his name Ishfaq Ahmed Dar. He hails from Khankahbag locality of Pampor and has joined the terrorist organization The Registration Front Jammu Kashmir (TRF) shortly before.

In the initial interrogation, he told that the terrorist organization had given him the responsibility of a grenade attack on security forces in Pulwama. At the moment, he is being questioned.
